Fiction verses non-fiction and what if?
Are they black and white, clearly defined? When pen goes to paper is the instinct to fantasise and bend reality or to tell the truth.
Benders of reality and fantasisers tease and test the waters with word that take the readers into their world of mysterious makings. Like magicians they weave a web of stories that leave you amazed at the wonder of the writers mind.
Truth, do you dare? Realism story tellers of crimes, passions and hardships that twist your guts with pity, sadness, some joy but bitter sweet are most of the memoirs.
Is it black and white or does grey show in these genres?
Can the fantasiser say they did not call upon a real life experience, entwined a person, event or pet into their writings? Most tales of this kind CANNOT be proven, YET, so classed as – FICTION.
Has the writer of truth not bent and flexed a name, time or event to protect. No matter, this really happened, so MUST BE – NON-FICTION.
What would happen if the fantasiser channelled from another time, planet or galaxy? WHAT IF it were REAL, that there was someone else out there and TIME travel and FOURTH dimensions DID EXIST?
The GREY area is out there! So, UNTIL FICTION is proven TO BE REAL and non-fiction NOT to hold touches of BENT REALISM, these genres will never be just black and white.
Next time I’m in a book store I will give the other a go.
Hope you do too. Look up CLOUD RIDERS (Lord of the Planets series) by Debbie Behan and read one of these books that can’t be proven, YET!
